August Birchbox Review
The August Birchbox theme was Beauty School, which I didn’t really get except there was a little booklet with beauty tips. I’m still pretty happy with this service and feel like it’s worth the $10, though I’ll probably take a break soon because I need to do a better job at using things up before getting more. I’m one of those people who gets excited to completely use up a product and open a new one.
Birchbox is a monthly subscription service for upscale beauty products. For $10, you get a box with 4-5 generous samples including makeup, skincare, fragrance, body, and hair care. Wanna try Birchbox? I’d love it if you used my referral invite: Click here.
August Birchbox Items: The price in parenthesis is the price for the full-sized product, the samples are pretty generously sized, if not full-size.
- FusionBeauty Lash Fusion XL – I haven’t used this yet because I want to use up my current mascara first so I don’t have multiple bottles that dry are going to dry out. It claims to be part mascara, part conditioner, so I suspect it will be nice. This was a full-size tube. ($24)
- Juicy Couture Viva la Juicy La Fleur perfume – This is wearable, though slightly flowery for me. ($70)
- SHU UEMUR Art of Hair Cleaning Oil Shampoo – This claims to leave hair clean and bouncy. I haven’t used it yet, but I’m curious. Though for the price, I’d only ever buy it if it allowed me to only wash my hair twice a week, which is never going to happen with my greasies and how many times I sweat per week. ($55)
- Yu-Be Moisturizing Skin Cream – This is a thick Japanese cream that “hydrates chapped lips, rough heels, and cracked hands. I tried a tiny bit of this and it seems like it would work really well. I’d probably use it mostly on my cuticles, but I love that its really versatile. I may buy a full-size because Lo’s hands get really chapped in the winter especially, because he washes them a ton. ($16)
- Suki Nourishing Regimen – This kit includes Creamy Foaming Cleanser, Concentrated Nourishing Toner, Intensive Nourishing Cream, Pure Facial Moisture, and Intensive Nourishing Masque. I haven’t used them yet, but I’ll definitely take them with me when travel. ($50)
- Birchbox Extra: Schick Hydro Silk Razor- I usually use Venus razors/cartridges, but I was happy to receive this one because I’m happy with any 5-blade razor with the moisturizing strips. Plus good razors are expensive, so this was a great “extra”.
