Feel Good Friday
There’s a lot of crap in the world (especially this week with I.S. activity again) , so let’s talk about things that made us feel good this week…because it’s Friday – and that’s reason enough. It’s easy enough to focus on the things that aren’t perfect or on drama, but it’s not worth it. So here are my feel good friday things…. (trust me, I had a good enough week, but it’s hard not to complain or talk about negative things some weeks!)
Long weekends! Labor day weekend meant extra time with Jenson…and I can never get enough time with him.
My fantasy football draft was pretty good, even though I was nursing Jenson and putting him to bed during the first 4 rounds. Go team “Mom Jeans”!
Cute pic: Jenson while I was trying to draft my team. Lo picked his jammies, lol.
I spent some time organizing and cleaning out the finished basement. I have SO much more to do…it became kind of a dumping ground for things…but I just tried to organize or get rid of something down there every evening. It already looks so much better. We have SO much baby stuff though!
There’s a lady who is sometimes walking her dog when I’m on my way into work in the morning. We usually make dodgy eye contact and smile at each other, but today I was compelled to say hello to her – she just has one of those friendly, happy faces. And her face lit up and she said “hi” back. I know that’s something so small and she probably forgot about it shortly after, but people tend to get caught up in the themselves and pretend like others don’t exist.
I reached out to check on friends who had their first baby recently (they don’t live near friends/family) and the husband text back this long message thanking me for being there for her and answer questions/giving advice and that it meant a lot to them. I believe he called me “a good egg”. I’m thrilled to be able to help, but it was nice for him to take the time to thank me, even though they had a busy day (doctor’s appt.).
Nice comments on this post (even if these people are (real or fake) relatives of ours).
Jenson is standing up all over the place now, and while it’s sad to see how fast he’s growing up, it’s awesome to see how excited he gets when he’s learning new things.
What made you feel good this week?
