Fitness Friday: Nov. 14 – 21
I usually do Workout Wednesday, but didn’t get my post up so I went with Fitness Friday this week. Who knows…I may stick with it. Since I don’t work out much on the weekend, it would make it easier to remember what I did during the week.
My knee is coming along well enough with my physical therapy, but it would heal faster if I was better at not doing things that bothered it. In some classes that I’ve taken, I’ve struggled at stopping if it hurt – I just try to push through which is dumb. Overall, I’m still keeping my workouts to a minimum and doing my PT exercises during lunch, but I did get a couple of extra workouts in, including classes at Buckeye Bounce Club. Fit Jump Trampoline Class is FUN, but it’s hard! We do a variety of non-stop circuits throughout the hour class and my knee actually feels good in this class – except when we were sprinting on the trampoline and I should have stopped because it hurt and I didn’t.
Wednesday, November 14
- Noon – PT exercises
Thursday, November 15
- Noon – PT exercises
- 7:00 p.m. – Fit Jump Trampoline Class: This was my first class and it was hard, but not unreasonable. One of the hardest things was jumping into the foam block pit and wading through it and crawling out.
Friday, November 16
- Noon – PT exercises
We had plans that night after work and wouldn’t have a lot of time to spend with Boof after work so during the day Kelley and Chuck picked up Boof for a playdate at their house with Nash and Mason. She was racked out on the 10 minute drive home – she definitely got some exercise!
That night we went to Lemongrass Asian Bistro for dinner (awesome soup and sushi) and then to MiddleWest Spirits Distillery Vodka Tasting, which was a pretty cool experience.
Saturday, November 17
- Painting Party! And then to Tanuki Sushi with some friends for sushi again (it is my favorite sushi place by far – the tuna cannot be beat! And then to Powell Village Winery for Big Spender Wine. And then to BW3’s for the UFC Fight. This variety of drinks led to a fun night, but not so fun Sunday.
Sunday, November 18
- Hangover! I felt fine for several hours and even played outside in the beautiful day with Boof. Then I started to get a bad headache…and then I started to get nauseous. And then I was pretty much confined to the couch for hours. I wanted to take a TRX/Spin Class…and that didn’t happen. I can only assume it was a hangover from going from pineapple martinis, to chardonnay, to vodka sodas. I didn’t even have a ton of any of the drinks, so it was quite a surprise. We had Dinner + Movie Night that night and I could barely eat, which was disappointing.
Monday, November 19
- Noon – PT Exercises: The weakness in my right hip was astounding! The exercises were hard, but not horrible.
Tuesday, November 20
- Noon – PT Appointment: It was pretty much just me doing my exercises while at the PT place, which seems like a waste of time to get to the appointment and money. Oh well.
- 7:00 p.m. – Fit Jump Trampoline Class: It was a different teacher this night and some of the exercises were harder, but overall the class was about the same level of difficulty because we didn’t do much of the off-trampoline circuits (though we had to do the pit again). The sprints really hurt my knee, but of course I did them anyway.
Wednesday, November 21
- Noon – PT exercises
- 6:00 p.m. – Level 2 Hot Power Yoga at PAI: I finally started my PAI 45 day membership that I bought through Amazon Local or Google or whatever. The instructor, Laurel, is pretty well known and an excellent yoga teacher. She’s tough though, so it was a long, hard class. We did a lot of sitting on our heels and with our knees bent behind us, which was bad for my knee, but I didn’t grab a block before class and didn’t want to be disruptive to go get one so I just pushed through.
Thursday, November 22
- Thanksgiving! Yeah, no workout of course.
whew looks like you were busy!
