Fitness Friday: Whomp-whomp (in the tune of Debbie Downer)

I have no Fitness Friday to report, sadly.  Other than walking around at Ikea on Saturday, and the Zoo all day on Sunday, I’ve got nothing.

See…I had some spotting on Sunday/Monday which I always think isn’t a big deal, however I’m supposed to call my Dr. when it happens.  I called on Monday to let them know and pointed out that I have an ultrasound scheduled for Friday – hoping that they would have me just wait it out (assuming it didn’t get worse).  But no.  They wanted me to come in that afternoon, which was fairly inconvenient because we had to then drive to Dublin from downtown to go to the Dr., and then back downtown to go to our friends’ baby’s final adoption hearing.  I did NOT want to miss that.

Long story short, I have partial placenta previa (which I knew – and they fully expect to go away on its own as my uterus grows), so they want me to be extra cautious just in case the bleeding is from that.  Since I have an ultrasound on Friday, she didn’t do another one, but said I’m on light duty.  So no working out – at all – not even prenatal yoga!  She said it’s better than being put on bedrest, which is the next step – and I agree, but it still feels like overkill.  Obviously, I’m going to follow it – since it’s not just about me anymore – but that doesn’t mean I’m not annoyed.  I’m not even supposed to lift grocery bags (which I admit I failed at already).

I’m sad i didn’t get my leg workout in though.  Right after the appointment, I kept thinking to myself, “what if I only do one exercise from the workout per day”.  And then I realized that was kind of stupid and I could totally deal with taking it easy.  I’m allowed to walk around – just not fitness walking I suppose.

So here’s to hoping that the placenta is already moved by Friday and I have no more restrictions for next week!
