Happy 3rd Anniversary!
I’ve been absent for a few days, but I wanted to write a quick post to recognize our 3rd anniversary! It was definitely spent a little differently than our 1st and 2nd anniversaries, but it was a great day nonetheless.
Our first anniversary was during the week, so after work we went to a great restaurant called Barcelona in German Village. Our friends arranged for a bottle of wine to be waiting on us and we had a fantastic meal. We didn’t do gifts because we had planned a trip to go back to Kauai, Hawaii in December with friends of ours, and we didn’t really do gifts for much. I’ll take Hawaii over a gift any day though!
For our second anniversary, I decided that we should start buying each other gifts since we don’t really for birthdays or anything. (I wrote all about that here) We were in Siesta Key, Florida with our friends at their new vacation home and had such a fun trip. Our anniversary was the night before we left to head back home and we spent it at the beach. The four of us sat on the beach and watched the sunset and a storm roll in while drinking champagne.
This year, I almost forgot our anniversary….I have a lot on my mind! Lo got a package in the mail and I asked what he ordered and he told me not to ask questions – I was like – oh! Oops! The 3rd anniversary is the leather anniversary, so I had to brainstorm quickly to order a gift for him, but I decided on a pair of workgloves (with leather grips) for all of the work he does around the house, and a football and baseball so he can throw with our son. He got me a Peruvian leather and silver ring that I absolutely love. If I wasn’t feeling lazy right now, I would go upstairs and take a picture of it, but maybe another day. We couldn’t really come up with anything to do for our anniversary considering I’m super-pregnant and it was rainy most of the day. We spent the day working around the house, getting things ready for the baby. Later we went to Toys AND Babies R Us to get some of the Babyganics products that were on sale (of course they didn’t carry everything we wanted at either store because that whole chain of stuff is a nightmare). After that, our friends met us for dinner and after hanging out for awhile, we headed home to hang out with Boof and watch tv. So while it may have been the least exciting anniversary to date, we have plenty of exciting (and tiring) times coming upon us in a few weeks. We are just enjoying these relaxing times for now. It’s been a great three years with just the two of us (and Boof this past year), we are so looking forward to our growing family and many more years!
Happy Anniversary!!
