June MyGlam Review
I was excited to see what I’d get for my June MyGlam bag, and I wasn’t disappointed. At first I thought it wasn’t great, but then I realized that everything was full-sized except the moisturizer, so it was a decent deal! The bag itself didn’t smell chemically like the May bag, but it’s gold and sparkly and looks pretty cheap. It’s not like I was expecting to get a cute clutch that I’d carry, so it’s fine for a makeup or jewelry bag.
MyGlam is a beauty subscription program in which you receive 4-5 full-size or deluxe beauty products in a little cosmetic bag for $10 per month. When you sign up, you take a quiz so they can customize your Glam bag. You can cancel your subscription at any time, so it’s pretty low risk! It would also be a fun gift idea for a friend or sister!
June MyGlam Items:
- philosophy take a deep breath oil-free energizing oxygen gel cream moisturizer ($34) – Philosophy is a great brand, so I’m sure this will be great. I often need a travel tube of face moisturizer, so I’m happy to get this. This wasn’t full-size, but it’s definitely deluxe and will last for quite a few applications.
- NYX Round Lipstick in Iced Honey ($4) – I didn’t really expect to like this color because it’s “Iced”, which I relate to frosted lipsticks of the 80’s (or whenever that was). I was surprised to find that it actually looks good! It’s a nice summery color that is very subtle, except for the iced look. It would look even better on someone with a darker skin tone or a tan, but it still works for me
- Living proof.
frizzNourishing Styling Cream ($15 for 2 oz.) – At first I was like – great, styling cream…I don’t “style” my hair or get frizz. Plus my scalp is definitely on the oily side, so I can’t put it near my roots, which is where I do sometimes get flyaways (putting your hair in a ponytail twice a day to workout will make it break off!). But then I remembered that I’d been using a styling cream on wet hair after the shower to make it easier to comb, now that my hair is pretty long. That bottle has been empty for about a week and while I have another in my linen closet, I hadn’t bothered to grab it yet, so I started using this instead. It does the job for me, but I don’t notice any difference than the other cream I was using before, so I wouldn’t pay $15 for the size of bottle that I received. - Marbella Permanent Eyeliner Pen ($19) – I also wasn’t excited about this at first, since I’m not particularly good at applying eyeliner neatly. I normally just apply a line of it and smudge it so you can’t tell that it wasn’t straight in the first place. This is a fine tip pen and I was certain that I wouldn’t be able to apply a straight line…and it’s PERMANENT?! I went ahead and tried it out on a Saturday afternoon when we weren’t planning to go anywhere (just in case), and it actually worked out quite well. I just applied it using little dots right along my last line – I think I read that in a beauty magazine once! I prefer my draw and smudge method though, because you could barely tell I was wearing this, so I wouldn’t buy this eyeliner.
