Long weekend love

We get a long weekend for Labor Day and it couldn’t have come soon enough.

Ohio State football kicks off tomorrow!  That’s means NFL starts next week.  That means it’s fall.  That means a baby is coming soon!  Yikes!

We have more painting ahead of us this weekend.  The desk is painted (just need polycoat), and we made good progress on the glider on Friday.  With both of us working on it now, it should go pretty fast.  Just to be clear, we are NOT good furniture refinishers.  We have no future in this.  But it’ll be good enough.

We picked our crib!  Finally!  The one we wanted was discontinued in white, so we had to pick another:

And then we need to tackle the nursery wall plan – which either means us painting birch trees on the wall, or ordering birch decals.  Something like this:

And I still need to pick baskets or bins for the nursery closet.  I think a trip to the container store is in order, though I may order some from Amazon.

And then I need to put stuff away from the showers so far.  Everything is seriously still in the gift bags.  We cleared out the nursery completely, so it’s just a matter of starting to put stuff back in, in an organized manner.  And thank-you’s for the shower….I have to get cards and envelopes and start those.

I also want to make a stop to Destination Maternity.  They are having buy one, get one half off of jeans and I still need to find a pair.  It looks like they have some cute ones, so hopefully I’ll find a pair that fits.

But we have some tentative plans to hang out with friends, and we get to spend an extra day with Boof, AND we only have a 3 day week next week (we are off on friday for a few appointments).  It’s going to be a pretty good weekend!
