Oh, Fall…..stick around

I love you Fall, but you end too soon and I hate winter.  I love wearing jeans and being cozy with a light sweater, sitting by fires, watching football, eating and drinking the seasonal food, and it not being balls’ hot outside.  But we usually only get a month with you – it stays mostly hot through September and pretty much turns winter by November.

I love Halloween, but in addition to being a holiday of the “dead”, it also is usually the death of fall.  Sure, we may get a few days or weeks into November, but it’s likely to snow at any time.  I remember visiting my sister at Walsh College my freshman year of high school over Halloween weekend and it snowed so bad that my parents had to wait an extra day to come pick me up (I wasn’t mad).

Stick around this year will you?  Give us some extra days of apple picking and campfires.

Oh, and while you’re at it, Fall, can you figure out a Halloween costume for me?  I’m usually too lazy and wait too long to come up with something and then I have to pull something together out of my closet.  The costume I wore last year was just because I was it was chilly outside, and I wanted to wear my favorite flannel.

The Luigi costume that Lo had to match his Mario costume didn’t fit me very flatteringly in length or through the hips so our slim friend was Mario instead.  He and an ex wore them years ago – guess she was definitely smaller than me, lol!
