Jenson had a rough week of sleeping – or actually waking WAY too early, which means we had a rough week of sleeping, which means Lo had a really rough week sleeping. Actually, even though he gets up with him, he probably gets more sleep than me because he’s not a dumbass like me and he’s goes to bed at a reasonable time. Thursdays are his favorite because I have volleyball, and he eats ice cream for dinner and goes to bed really early. That’s what he says anyway. I usually go with the team for pizza and a beer at Pies and Pints. We love that place – they have great gluten-free pizza and Omission beer. We could probably get them to sponsor us because they expect us each week. The bartender will even get us food if the kitchen is technically closed when we have late games.
Jenson started singing parts of Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star – so cute. He especially sings the line “up above the world so high” – you can easily hear the “up above”, and he gets the rest of the syllables and tune right.
We took a trip to visit my family. My parents are heading to Vegas for a few weeks to visit my sister, so we wanted to get in a visit before they left since it’s been since Christmas. My mom is always so busy when we are home for a holiday, so it was nice that she was able to just relax and spend lots of time with Jenson instead of constantly cooking and cleaning up in the kitchen. It was a nice trip – snowy and cold, but not snowing on the days we drove, so that was nice.

Playing in Boof’s toy basket. He really wanted in it, so I helped him, but he pretty quickly realized it wasn’t comfortable.
Playing with a chicken dog toy at my mom’s. So he likes dog toys…
Look how good Lo is at handstands!
Pretending to sleep like daddy
He’s doing really well with learning to use a spoon. Sometimes he uses the right end, sometimes he uses the wrong (handle) end, and sometimes he feeds Boof with the spoon.
Flying high
Reading with his cousin. They are big fans of each other.
Getting some sugar from Mama
Showing off his penguin mittens that Aunt Christine made him. He doesn’t look excited in the picture, but he LOVES them. He was giving them kisses and clapping.
Feeding himself hummus. He was off the hummus wagon for awhile, but I think he’s just partial to the Sabra brand, so he was all about it when I bought it again. I’m happy with that, because we struggle to get protein in him (aside from greek yogurt).
Playing with Gramma. They looked at rocks she’s collected and objects around the house.
I was watching the birds in her yard. Can you see the cardinal, blue jay, and woodpecker? I really should put out a feeder at our house…
He loves his musical card from his Aunt.
Reading – I hope he always loves books.
Family photo outtake. Boof is my favorite in this picture – she’s leaning away like “I’m not with them”.
This was a little better, but obviously Jenson and Boof found something interesting to look at.
People ask why I want to live in the country. This. Their property is perfect – it has woods, fields, barns, a pond, a long driveway to ride bikes in…everything that is fun for kids.
It was so cold and the snow was hard packs, that the snow in the yard was about 4-5 inches deep and you could walk on top.
Country wine chiller. The dining room window opens to a patio (which is actually the garage roof), so we’ve always put drinks (soda and such) out there to chill when it’s cold.
Hope you had a good week…unfortunately this week was even colder than this last week!
