We had a busy week! Jenson’s swimming classes started this week. He likes being in the pool, but it takes him awhile to get warmed up in new situations, so he doesn’t start to seem like he’s having fun until the end. The class is only 45 minutes, and it’s right before his normal bedtime, so he’s usually getting pretty tired too. He won’t learn how to swim in the class, but will get used to being in the water and going under the water and having water in his eyes/face. He did better at that than I expected.
He also had his 15 month appointment. He gained back the 2 lbs that he lost when he was sick, so he’s back on track. The doctor said he should be saying 3-4 words…um, how about 30-40? He was also impressed that he could stoop down and stand up without support – but he was able to do that before he walked. I think he did some things backwards because the whole breaking his arm thing set him back a little. He didn’t even cry when he got his vaccine. We also decided that his hair was getting too long again, so we headed to the Barber Shop after his Dr. appt. for his 3rd haircut. We decided to go with a “little boy” haircut – a little shorter – but I think I like it longer better, so we’ll just let it grow out. I like little boys with shaggy hair.
The other major thing is that our twin nephews, Luke and Levi, were born on Friday! We headed out of town for the night to see them and Lo’s family. We only got to see/hold Levi because Luke was being monitored for a slight breathing issue at the time of our visit, so well will just have to head back in the next week or two to visit once they are settled in at home. We stayed at Lo’s parent’s house, and Jenson was happy to get to hang out with Sadie the whole time, since she was staying there while her parents were in the hospital with the boys. Sadly, we think Jenson may be allergic to cats, as he couldn’t stop rubbing his eyes and nose while we were there and had trouble sleeping. As soon as we left, his issues went away. Lo is slightly allergic to cats too, so it’s not crazy. We’ll just have to talk to the Dr. about what to do for him when we are going to be around cats.
Oh, and the Buckeyes won the National Championship, but that’s not really about “us”. Still awesome. They didn’t just win…they won easily.

The night of the OSU/Oregon National Championship game. I ask him what was going to happy (before the game) and said “touchdown?”, so he gave me the motion.
Chowing on some fake broccoli. Too bad he’s on strike from real broccoli.
Dr. appointment. I just realized these are from two different appointments and two different weeks, but the first one was so cute that I didn’t want to leave it out. I miss his shaggy hair since he got a haircut immediately after his doctor appointment.
3rd haircut. We lucked out with the same barber at the barber shop. He’s super gentle and sweet with Jenson. He did really well again, until the very end when he was cleaning him up. I can’t believe how long his hair looked when it was combed over his ears.
Boy haircut! Snack time on the kitchen floor. Boof was really trying to participate.
Boof had a sleepover with her boyfriend (neighbor dog) while his parents went out of town. They acted crazy for about 3 hours, and finally settled down after Jenson went to sleep. I know sleepover with a boyfriend is kind of slutty, but it was mostly PG…except for some air humping on Lincoln’s part, but they slept in separate beds – he was in ours, and she was in hers.
He was trying to slurp his food out of the bowl.
Brushing his teeth.
Acting silly at Nana’s. We visited with Lo’s family because…..
We have 2 new nephews (now 11 nieces and nephews!). The twins were born on Friday. We went to the hospital to visit. We got to hold Levi, but weren’t able to visit Luke at that time, as he was being treated for some minor breathing issues (which have since resolved).
So so so sweet. My sister made the hats for them.
We got to hang out a bunch with Sadie (the big sister) as she was staying at Lo’s mom during the hospital stay. Lo was very excited that he got to build with Legos. He can’t wait until Jenson is old enough for Legos. All I can think about is them being spread about the house and stepping on them.
On the way home from brunch. Jenson LOVED having Sadie to look at in the car. She’s very entertaining though – she sung songs the whole ride home. She’s definitely one of his favorite people.
