Pigeon Roost Farms
We met some friends at Pigeon Roost Farms one Friday after Lo got off work. It’s a huge fall playland with tons of activities and animals. Jenson was thrilled to go because we were with one of his favorite friends, Jackson, and his bestie Emmy. They are both about 2 years older than him, so he can’t quite do what they do, but he really loves being around Jackson.
Though just as he did at every pumpkin/fall place we went to, he couldn’t stay away from the Little Tykes toys. I like that these places have things for the little ones to play on, but he’d be happy to play on these things the whole time and not check out the other cool stuff! Finally we lured him out of there and went to check out the rest of the activities.
There was so much to do that it was almost overwhelming for him. The stuff was pretty far apart too, so we only checked out about 1/2 of it because he was too young to play on some of the stuff. Jackson and Emmy were playing with the big kid things for awhile, and Jenson was all about the swings.
They met up to play in the giant sandbox and had lots of fun in there.
Lo tried out one of the human hamster wheels or whatever, and that didn’t go so well. Being tall is a disadvantage in those – he bailed out before he took a spill.
We played on the wooden horses and saddle swings for a bit, and then headed over to check out the chickens, bunnies, and pigeons. A lot of the animals just ran around the property (chickens, geese, turkeys, rabbits, etc), but some were in pens.
After we were done at the farm, we all went to Bob Evans – apparently the piggie pancakes are a favorite of Jackson and Emmy’s. Jenson was just happy to be hanging out with them, and he was thrilled that his piggie pancakes had chocolate syrup drizzled on them (for the pig face). It was a fun night – and he talked about Jackson and Emmy constantly after that. Lucky for him, we got to see them again in week for a Halloween event.
