Sunday Social: Halloween
It’s Sunday Social day where Ashley and Neely post questions each week for people to answer on their blogs and a linkup. This week’s questions are all about Halloween.
1. What was your favorite Halloween costume as a kid? I don’t remember honestly. I only remember costumes from seeing pictures. I was a pumpkin, a genie, and I can’t remember any others right now…that’s kind of sad. My mom made a lot of our costumes, but if we wanted to be something with a store-bought crappy costume/mask, we were allowed. I was a ninja several years when I was probably too old to keep trick-or-treating, but wanted to keep going. Plus my friends and I just liked being dressed like ninjas and doing stupid Ninja things when trick or treating.
2. If you could go back to your childhood and dress up as something, what would it be? I don’t really know. I don’t feel like I missed out on being anything specific.
3. What was your favorite Halloween costume as an adult? The one I’ve worn the most is a slutty-ish police officer. I actually had part of a real police uniform from when I was a dispatcher and the Sgt. was throwing out old unis, but I didn’t have any pants for it, so I wore it with a navy skirt and high boots that I had. I didn’t need it to be slutty, I just liked that it was a real uniform…well, the hat and the shirt anyway. It’s pretty safe to say I wouldn’t look this good in it anymore.
4. What is your favorite Halloween candy? I don’t discriminate that much with candy…I really like Milky Way and 3 Musketeers though.
5. What is your favorite Halloween memory? Trick-or-treating with friends once we were “old enough” to go on our own. As an adult, it was fun decorating the house last year since it was our first year in a house and we’d actually get trick-or-treaters. We did minimal decorations this year. We’ve been a little distracted/busy with baby.
6. What is your favorite scary movie? Probably Nightmare on Elm Street. My sister and I used to watch those when we spent the night at our friends’ house (who were siblings). Sometimes Freddie is in my dreams still…which is creepy since the movies are based on him being in people’s dreams.
That’s so cool you got to wear home-made costumes! My mom is awesome, but not creative/ crafty at all so we always had to get something from the store.
