Sunday Social – Life and such
Obviously this week brought a pretty devastating tragedy in Connecticut. It’s even worse that people are fighting so much about the issues of gun control and mental illness issues instead of honoring the heroes of that day and the families who are going into the holidays having suffered such terrible losses. And the kids – who witnessed such evil at such an innocent age. There are no definitive answers and there are no real solutions – evil is in this world and sadly I can only see it getting worse. All that we can do is love our loved ones harder, hate our enemies less, and reach out to those who we ignore or who need something that we can give.
On to less serious things….
It’s Sunday Social day where Ashley and Neely post questions each week for people to answer on their blogs and a linkup.
- What is the wallpaper on your cell phone? A photo from our wedding on the beach in Maui. It was a candid that someone (my brother in law, I think?) took on a phone and its so much more natural since we didn’t know the picture was being taken. We aren’t the best posers for photos, though our photographer did a fantastic job with our awkwardness. We are both smiling at something that our (possibly stoned) officiant said and the island of Lanai was in the background. I love how my veil caught the wind too.
- What do you keep beside your bed? nook, magazines on floor, cell phone, water, chapstick, lotion, and other random junk that shouldn’t be on top of my nightstand
- What is your least favorite chore? I don’t know that I have a favorite, but I guess my least favorite would be putting away laundry. I like sorting and washing – I just hate to put it away for some reason. To be honest, Lo does more chores than me, so one of my least favorites is probably something that he does. I handle more of the food buying/prep, though he does some of that too.
- If you could eliminate one thing from your daily routine, what would it be? COMMUTE! When we bought our house, we went from having 5-10 minute commute each way to a 30-45 minute commute each way. We’re happier where we are now and made the best choice for our future, but we lose over an hour a day with the commute.
- What do you do to vent anger? Usually swear. If I’m really mad I occasionally punch things – and not soft things. It’s gotten better though. I remember having to sometimes roll myself up in a blanket and go to sleep so I wouldn’t put my hand through my window. I can’t remember anything specific that made me so angry, but it was back when I was working in the psych hospital, and there were a lot of things to be angry about. Sometimes I get so angry/frustrated that I cry for like 3 minutes and then I’m okay.
- What is your favorite Holiday of the year and why? That’s hard…..I really like halloween, christmas is pretty fun, but I’d maybe go with New Years Eve. All my life I’ve had some pretty fun times on New Years Eve – there have been a couple of dud years, but most are pretty awesome. Before I was gluten-free I would have said St. Patty’s Day, but without being able to drink Guinness, it’s kind of ruined for me.
Leave me one or all of your answers in the comments (or a link to your post if you participated!).
oh man the commute would kill me. My husband when he was in training he had to drive an hour each way. He’d have to leave at 5:30a to get there and then wasn’t getting home until almost 7 every night.
Now it’s just 5 minutes and he comes home for lunch.
