Weekend: twins, zoo, and other fun stuff
Heart stop. The moment you hear a loud thud from upstairs, long after everyone else has gone to bed, and you realize that it’s from something hitting the nursery floor. I imagine Jenson having hurdling himself over the railing somehow, but luckily when i looked at the camera, I saw that he was standing up and throwing everything out of his crib He didn’t have much in there – just a couple of small stuffed animals and a lovey blanket, so I don’t know what actually made the noise…the only thing I can think is that he hit his head on the crib before I looked at the camera. He immediately laid back down and went to sleep, so I suspect he wasn’t really awake anyway.
Our weekend was great. It was much warmer – like almost 60! We went outside…we took a family walk!
We also got to go see our newborn nephews. We didn’t get to meet Luke when we went to visit at the hospital, just Levi, so it was awesome to meet them both and try to figure out how to tell them apart. I’m pretty good at it based on their head shapes, but it’s harder if they aren’t beside each other. They are so tiny and adorable!
Jenson didn’t pay much attention to the babies other than trying to throw toys into the rock-n-plays for them, but he always loves seeing Sadie! They had lots of fun playing while we held the babies.
Jenson did some modeling once we got home. He’s usually dressed pretty casually around the house in sweatpants, so he looks so adorable when we dress him in jeans. He was very Gap-ish in the jeans, flannel, and Gap hoodie.
He also asked for a banana about every 20 minutes, or each time he passed through the kitchen. It seemed like he wanted to eat constantly this weekend, except for what we were trying to feed him for meals. Growing!
We went to the Zoo for a bit on Sunday. He liked watching the big kitties and the fish mostly.
Lo got us tickets and a hotel in Cincy to see Elton John at the end of the month. SOOOO looking forward to it. I wasn’t sure if I’d ever get to see him…I feel like he could stop touring at any time.
We watched Gone Girl. I read the book a couple of years ago, but Lo hadn’t. I didn’t really remember how it ended…just that I didn’t like the ending, so the movie was a surprise all over again for me. And once again I wasn’t thrilled with the ending. I want more! Afterwards Lo said – so if you read the book and you didn’t like it, why did you want to watch the movie?! He was frustrated with the lack of resolution too.
And I found out you can make homemade gummies (like gummy bears) and they are so easy! So I whipped up a tiny batch a little bit ago. I think they worked! I’ll know for sure in the morning.
