Weekly Workout: August 9-15
I didn’t post my workouts last week because we’ve been so busy in the evenings. We are constantly working around the house on projects and cleaning and by the time we sit down, it’s after 9. Last Thursday night, when I normally would have been posting, I was sneaking upstairs to pack a bag to visit my family over the weekend. I had to sneak because if Boof knows we are packing, she gets all distraught and is afraid we are leaving her. Even though she was going with us, I didn’t want her to be worried all day while we were at work.
Friday, August 9
- Noon – Nothing: We left early for a doctor’s appointment before heading to my parents for a visit and my baby shower.
Saturday, August 10
- Nothing: I ate lots of cupcakes. Does that count? Boof was guarding the cupcakes. As far as we know for sure, she only got 1/2 of a dropped cupcake, though there was suspicion later on when she was found licking icing off the floor. Since the kids ate a million cupcakes that day, there was frosting all over the house (like on the light switch in the bathroom, lol), so she may have just found some dropped frosting.
Sunday, August 11
- Nothing: More relaxing at my parents before heading back to down and going over to Chuck and Kelley’s for dinner and the new episode of Breaking Bad! It was awesome, as expected. I know it has to end after this final 1/2 season, but we definitely aren’t ready for that.
Monday, August 12
- Noon – Nothing! I was exhausted all morning and could hardly stay awake. I laid down to take a nap instead. It was needed. I made up for it by getting a lot done around the house that night.
Tuesday, August 13
- Noon – Noon Yoga at Capitol Club: The yoga instructor always seems so excited to see me when I come to class now – it cracks me up. She’ll tell me some things she plans to do for the class and how I can modify. I think she’s genuinely one of those people who get really excited about people being pregnant. Class was good. I love that it’s still hard, and I can just modify what I need. I was feeling really good that day, so I worked pretty hard.
Wednesday, August 14
- Noon – 100 Workout and Elliptical: I did my usual 100 leg workout: 100 squats, 90 second wall sit (split in two), 80 calf raises, 70 second plank, 60 lunges, 50 single-leg leg deadlifts (25 each leg), 40 plie squats with kettlebell, 30 side squat walk with heavy band around thighs, each direction (don’t know what to call those), 20 bridge lifts, 10 pushups. For the squats I used the trx bands so I could lean back but was still supported. This worked great because it gave me belly room and I could go deeper into the squat. I really struggled with the 10 pushups at the end. I’m not sure if it’s because I was worn out, or if they are just harder with all the extra belly weight. I did 20 minutes of elliptical afterwards. My belly ligaments were really hurting on the walk back to work. I wanted to sit down! I didn’t get sore after this workout. That annoys me, but I realize I shouldn’t be working out hard enough to get sore now anyway.
Thursday, August 15
- Noon – 40 minutes Elliptical: Same old, same old. It’s not really an elliptical – it’s a combo machine that is like low-impact running combined with elliptical. It’s (way) easier than running, but harder than the elliptical. It’s my favorite one to use and if I don’t get there early enough, there’s a guy that beats me to it.
