Weekly Workout: Feb. 2 – Feb. 8
My workouts were definitely cut short this week with a bout of the 12 hour flu Wednesday night/Thursday. Being sick on Thursday meant no spinning or other workout at lunch, and no yoga after work. Oh well….I’m just grateful that it was such a short flu and no stomach issues. I’ve heard of a lot of people that have it for 10 days or more with lots of gross stuff! Boof loved having me home today because Loren had her get in bed with me when he left for work and she loves when she gets the change to sleep in our bed. She also did a lot of playing beside me on the couch instead of sleeping the day away like she does when we are at work. She’s also been loving a new toy that our friends brought for her.
Saturday and Sunday, February 2-3
- Nothing: I don’t usually do much on the weekend….this weekend wasn’t any different.
Monday, February 4
- Noon – Quadburger 100 Workout: I scrolled to a random workout in my iphone workout note and did the first that I stopped at. I started to get a charley horse feeling in my outer quad when I was doing plank and when I got to the back lunges, I couldn’t even do them even after foam rolling, so I had to trim the single leg work with my right leg for the rest of the workout. My quads were so sore the next day – which is why I called it quadburner, but the specific pain went away luckily. I still don’t know what made them so sore because they don’t usually get very sore – maybe the 90 sec. wall sit? I’ve done those before though. So this was the quadburner 100 workout: 100 jumprope, 90 second wall sit, 80 squats, 70 bridge lifts, 60 second plank, 50 full situps, 40 back lunges (but had to scale and did 20 with left leg and only about 5 with right), 30 single dead lift (all 30 on left leg and about 2 on right), 20 jump squats, 10 burpees. I definitely want to try it again next week and see if I get sore again.
Tuesday, February 5
- Noon – Yoga at Capital Club: Class was harder than normal, but not as hard at Thursday nights.
- 9:50 p.m. – Volleyball: Kelley and Chuck are playing this session, so we’re really happy about that. Chuck and Lo went to the hockey game though, so it was 4 girls and 2 guys, but we still won 2 of 3, so that was great. It was a decent team with super tall guys too.
Wednesday, February 6
- Noon – Nothing: I had an orthodontist appointment today over my lunchtime, so I didn’t get a chance to work out. After work I thought I was somehow really sore from Monday’s workout and Tuesday’s yoga, which would be weird, but it was actually a 12 hour flu creeping in. It ended just being horrible body aches, chills, and a fever. I was a little headachy today and extra tired, but I think I’m good now.
Thursday, February 7
- Nothing: I was recovering from the flu today, so lots of rest instead.
Friday, February 8
- Noon – Easy workout: I’ll probably try to take it easy if I do anything…maybe just elliptical or walking with an easy shoulder workout. I’m scheduling this ahead, so I’m just guessing.
