Workouts: July 2-6

With the 4th of July falling mid-week  and skipping lunch on Friday when my parents come in town, I thought this would be a busted workout week.  As it turned out, I actually managed 6 workouts in two days, though they weren’t the highest quality workouts and because our one volleyball game was cut short for storms, I can maybe only call it 5 1/2 workouts.

Monday
Noon:  Elliptical 35 minutes; a few leg exercises, but I didn’t want to do too many since I was playing my first sand volleyball game that night.

5:30 p.m.:  Core Yoga at Capital Club

8:30 p.m.: Co-ed 4’s Sand Volleyball at Bogey (won all three and I didn’t suck!).  It was balls hot though.

Tuesday
Noon:  No workout – left work early to beat the crazy Red White and Boom traffic

Wednesday
Noon:  No workout – off work

Thursday
Noon:  It was supposed to be spinning, but I’m never surprised when she isn’t there.  40 minutes elliptical instead

5:30 p.m.: Yoga at Capital Club – We did a lot of core, as well as some hard arm balancing things that I couldn’t really do.  Definitely a tough upper body day, but fun.  I like the days when she said we’re “going to play” because I know I’ll learn some new things or at least look stupid trying.

7:30 p.m.:  Sand Volleyball at Beekman Park – this was a makeup game for Lo’s league.  Chuck and Kelley subbed too, so it was extra fun with the 4 of us, but they made everyone leave the courts for an impending storm right after the first game and it was going to be an hour or more before they’d let us back on the courts so we left.  I can’t really call it a workout since it was only 15-20 minutes…

Friday
Noon:  No workout; left early because my parents are coming to visit!
They come every year for the Good Guys car show and they usually would stay in a hotel close to the action, but we don’t live far from it now (and have tons of space) so they are staying with us.  It’s also their anniversary (45 years!!!) on Sunday (and Summy’s birthday today).
How awesome is this picture of when they were dating?!  They really knew how to party!
