Workouts: June 18 – 22

I stuck to a lot of yoga again this week, even though I struggle with counting it as a workout. I know that is insane because the yoga that I’m taking is actually hard and I sweat like crazy.  I think because I enjoy it so much, by the time the end of the class comes around, I feel relaxed and forget about how hard the class was.  I think as long as I do one weight workout and one cardio workout, in addition to yoga, I should be fine.  I still can’t lift much using my upper body because of my elbow, and I usually am sore for several days after my leg routine, that I have a hard time squeezing in any additional weight workouts.

Monday:
Noon:  I intended to do a hard leg workout with lots of burpees in between, but when I got to the gym, they had refinished the floor where I’d normally workout, so it was closed.  I was limited on space but I still lifted legs and a bit of upper body and then did the elliptical for 15-20 minutes.
5:00 p.m.:  60 minute Core Yoga at Capital Club

Tuesday:
Noon:  I went to the Pearl Alley Farmer’s Market at lunch instead of the gym.
7:00 p.m.:  80 minute Slow Flow then Yin Heated Yoga at GoYoga – this was NOT hard and Kelley and I were really disappointed.  It was a sub and it was nothing like the previous time I’d taken it.  It was verrrry slow…and not hard.  I was struggling to keep it together for this class because there was no concentration required and I kept wanting to laugh about things.  Early in the class a dead flower bud fell off my towel or mat (from the car) and I flicked it over to Kelley’s mat when she wasn’t looking.  I kept trying not to laugh and waiting for her to discover it so I could see her reaction, but I wasn’t looking when she saw it and threw it over to the wall.  She totally thought it fell out of her hair from when she was watering flowers.  We only did about 10 vinyasas and balance poses and then went into the Yin part of the class, which started in child’s pose.  The instructor was holding it for so long that I thought she fell asleep!  Again, I was trying not to laugh because Kelley can’t stand holding poses for minutes on end and was getting really fidgety.  I knew she was hating it.  I couldn’t look at her or else I’d start laughing.  I feel bad making fun of the class, because the instructor was really sweet and I’m sure she just didn’t know how hard the class normally is supposed to be.

Wednesday:
Noon:  45 minutes elliptical, I think.
7:00 p.m.:  GoYoga Flow Hot Yoga 80 minutes – this was Anne’s class, so it was hard as usual.
Thursday:
Noon:  I intended to spin even after I saw that class was cancelled, but then my shoes had been stolen.  I got my vibrams and ran outside and some stairs in 91 degree weather.
5:30 p.m.: Yoga at Capital Club – this may have been my sweatiest cold yoga class.  I can’t even remember why it was so hard, it just was.  I can totally do headstands now – without the wall!!!  Because this class is always small, we all get a lot of one on one attention and Anne is really good at assists, so I’ve really advanced from taking this class once a week.  I thought I’d be able to get away with a hooker shower afterwards to meet my friends at a local winery, but after my super-sweaty lunchtime run and super-sweaty yoga, I knew that I needed a full shower.

Friday
Noon:  Skipped lunchtime workout in favor of going to Kroger to get some stuff for a Taco Party we were having that night.  But I did score several $1 Hibiscus trees and some other flowers at Kroger!
